So I’m REALLY Guilty
  “Our Guilt Trip”

Roman 7:14-15, 18-19, “…I am unspiritual… I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do… For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing.”

See Genesis 3:6-13

1We tend to _____________________________________.
Genesis 2:25, “Adam and his wife were both naked, and they felt no shame.”

2. We tend to ________________________________ others.

How Should We Respond:

3. God wants us to ________________ and _______________.
Psalm 32:2-5, “Blessed is the one whose sin the Lord does not count against them and in whose spirit is no deceit. When I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long. For day and night  Your hand was heavy on me; my strength was sapped as in the heat of summer.  Then I acknowledged my sin to You and did not cover up my iniquity. I said, ‘I will confess my transgressions to the Lord.’ And You forgave the guilt of my sin.”
1 John 1:9, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”

What if I’m already a Jesus—Follower?

4. Christians have experienced God’s once-for-all forgiveness through the acceptance of Jesus’ work on the cross — this is called _____________________________________________.

5. However, there is a ____________________ that is called for as an ________________________ part of our new life in Christ.
Isaiah 59:2, “But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear.”
