Christmas — Through the Eyes of…  “His Birth” 

The Day of His Birth. See Luke 2:1-12

1. Jesus’ birth _____________________celebrated at first by the early church — only His resurrections was. 

2. So why December 25th?                                                                               

      a. _______________ going all the way back to the 4th century.                                                                                        

      b. Because it coincided with another festival of _________________already in place, called “Sol Invictus” 

John 1:9  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 

The Year of His Birth. See Matthew 2:1-2,11.

3. Based on Herod the Great’s death in 4 B.C., the birth of Jesus took place sometime between _________________.

Romans 8:14-15  For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by Him we cry, “Abba, Father.”
