Defining Moments

6. The ancient Greeks had two words for “time.” The first one, Chronos, refers to calendar or chronological time. But the other word for time is Kairos. It is time filled with _______________________. It’s a moment pregnant with eternal significance and possibility.

Ephesians 5:15-16, “Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise,  making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.”

Mary’s Kairos’ or Her Defining Moment

Luke 1:38, “I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May your word to me be fulfilled.” Then the angel left her.

Think of what that meant to Mary?

Joseph’s Kairos’ or His Defining Moment

Matthew 1:24, “When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife.”
