One Minute After Death

“From Here to Eternity”

Read Luke 16:19-31

Three Biblical Truths

1. Your _______________ departs your _____________.

2 Corinthians 5:1, 6-8, For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands… Therefore we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord. For we live by faith, not by sight. We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord.”

2. You will know your____________________________.

Luke 16:22-23  “The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham’s side. The rich man also died and was buried. 23 In Hades, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side.”

3. The main thing in life is to pay attention to what

Sequence of Events:

1. Departure of the Spirit from the Body.

2. Immediate presence with Jesus.

3. Participation in the ___________________________.

1 Thessalonians 4:14  “For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in Him.”

4.  You receive a new _____________________________.

1 Corinthians 15:51-53, “Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed—  in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.  For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality.”

5. Finally, the ___________________________________.

Revelation 20:11-12,15, “Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. The earth and the heavens fled from his presence, and there was no place for them. And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books.  Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.”
