Do You Want to Get Well?                            “Questions Jesus Asked”

1. Hummel: “Your greatest danger is letting the ________      ______________________crowd out the important.”

See John 5:1-14

John 5:6, “When Jesus saw him lying there and learned that he had been in this condition for a long time, He asked him, ‘Do you want to get well?’”

2. Needing to ____________________ and wanting to                ________________________ are two different things.

John 5:8-9, “Then Jesus said to him, ‘Get up! Pick up your mat and walk.’ At once the man was cured; he picked up his mat and walked. The day on which this took place was a Sabbath.”

3. There are different kinds of miracles that Jesus          performed. Some ________________ in faith (in other words, someone was healed because of their faith).

4. This one is difficult. There was nothing about this man that indicated he __________________ in Jesus. In fact, he didn’t even ask to be healed.

John 5:14, “Later Jesus found him at the temple and said to him, ‘See, you are well again. Stop sinning or something worse may happen to you.’”

5. If this man didn’t turn to God in light of his healing, his life would be even ___________________ than it was.

Next Week: “Why did you doubt Me?” See Matthew 14 for the context. See you next week!
