Why Did You Doubt Me?                       “Questions Jesus Asked”

Matthew 14:22-24, “Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of Him to the other side, while He dismissed the crowd. After He had dismissed them, He went up on a mountainside by Himself to pray. Later that night, He was there alone, and the boat was already a considerable distance from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it.”

1. In terms of analogy, storms are the great _____________________  of our relationship.

2. We think for God to be _______________________,  there shouldn’t be a storm.

3. The real issue is whether God can be trusted __________________; and whether you will trust Him in the __________________________.

Matthew 14:25-27, Shortly before dawn Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. When the disciples saw Him walking on the lake, they were terrified. ‘It’s a ghost,’ they said, and cried out in fear.  But Jesus immediately said to them: ‘Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.’”

4. So not only are we to trust God __________________________, but to trust Him with His timing __________________________________,

Romans 8:24-25, “For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently..”

Matthew 14:28-33,  “’Lord, if it’s you,’ Peter replied, ‘tell me to come to you on the water.’ ‘Come,’ He said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, ‘Lord, save me!’ Immediately Jesus reached out His hand and caught him. ‘You of little faith,’ he said, ‘why did you doubt? And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down. Then those who were in the boat worshiped Him, saying, ‘Truly you are the Son of God.’”

5. What’s your Boat? Remember: If you want to walk on water, you have to ______________________________________ of the boat.

6.  Where was Jesus? It’s not just about getting out of the boat, it’s also going _________________________________.

What would you do RIGHT NOW if you had no doubt or fear?
