A Sinner of Need of a Savior                                               “What the Bible Says About You”

Romans 3:23, ”For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

  1. The word used by Paul here literally means ______________  ________________.
  2. We water down the word “sinner” by…
a) Changing the word to ___________________.
b) Comparing our mistakes to ___________________________.

See Psalm 51:1-4, 16-17

Romans 6:23, ”For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

  1. According to the Bible, there are two kinds of death:
a) _____________________; and,
b) _____________________.
4. The best way to think of it is this: heaven is where God _____,  and hell is where God ______.

Matthew 13:42, ”They will throw them into the blazing furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

Romans 10:9,13, ”If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved… 13 for, ‘Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’”

  1. To accept the gift there must be an open declaration — a ___________________________.

James 2:19-20, ”Do I hear you professing to believe in the one and only God, but then observe you complacently sitting back as if you had done something wonderful? That’s just great. Demons do that, but what good does it do them? Use your heads!…

Do you suppose for a minute that you can cut faith and works in two and not end up with a corpse on your hands?”

Romans 6:2-4, ”By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? We were therefore buried with Him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead     through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.”
